Robocam

I got this little Korean toy camera off of ebay awhile ago for really cheap. It has three lenses and a robot on the front!

I ran a test roll through it awhile ago and I thought it was kind of cool.

I went with Claire to the fair. There was a clown that made me frown.

I leave on Tuesday so I'm supposed to be packing. Apparently Ian and Scott are trying to make cookies upstairs and Scott just put a metal saucepan in the microwave. I just ordered a mini fridge to rent for the school year, it will be nice to be able to keep all my film in there. Now I am going to pack. SO MUCH PACKING. See you in another life, brotha!

I really don't have a title

I'm in Portland right now! Marinna is leaving tomorrow and then I'll be the only one left in Corvallis. Except Jonny, who I'm supposed to go to Coffee Culture with. I won't be able to get any medium format film developed for awhile, since I'm not back in Toronto until the 6th, and then I'll have to find somewhere to get film developed, and such. Between Tuesday and then, I'll be in Apsley partying with Finn and Ollie. I guess I won't be able to get any 35mm developed either. But between now and when I leave I'll be able to get 35mm developed if I want, since it takes only an hour or so and for medium format I'd have to wait at least a week, by which time I will be gone... so I guess you get it now and I should stop typing about it.
Anyway that's okay for me because I have a ton of film photos backed up right now. A TON. Here are a few. This is a Holga roll from way back in July or whatever month I was in Apsley with Edward (except the first two are in Halifax).

lol edward.

The senior photos went pretty well and I'm finally all done editing them and I've given them out on disks to Jonny and John's parents. Now I just need to pack up all my shit before I leave!

Portraits

Hi! Everyone is leaving now. Soon I will be all alone in Corvallis again. But not for that long, because we're going to Canada around the end of August. These pictures are from my Holga and taken in Nova Scotia. I thought that it was colour film when I was shooting, but it was actually black and white. AAUAGHHGHG
But it turned out ok, I like them a lot more as a set of photos than as individual photos though (except for the lamp picture above).
Today I'm going to take Ian and Jonny's senior pictures. Tomorrow I'm doing Claire Fro's brother's pictures. I've never really done anything like that before, so I'm looking forward to it. Also it will give me a chance to do some digital photography, since I've been doing a lot of film stuff recently. I don't have any really great portrait lenses, but I have a couple that I think will work alright.
What do you think makes a good portrait photograph? I think something that reflects the subject's personality and captures them at their best is desirable for a senior photo. I never came forward and said "hey let me do your senior photos," so I'm happy that people thought of me to do senior photos for them.

Airplanes

Hiii. Summer's almost over. Classes start for me on September 13th and I move in on the 6th. We're going to Canada early though, to stay in Apsley for awhile. I'm not sure when we leave... but I should probably find out so that I know when to start packing. Packing should be pretty easy for me though, since I never really unpacked.

Here are some airplane-themed photos from my Golden Half camera. It shoots half a frame at a time on 35mm film. I hope I can find somewhere in Toronto to develop film for me...

I have my full schedule now. I got in to my physics class and both of the practical sections that I needed. There was only one spot left in one of the sections and two in the other section, and I got in to them both! Hooray! So next year I'll be taking Physics, Calc, East Asian History, Anthropology, and Philosophy. Edward is in my anthro class! I can't wait to see him again.

Umm, I changed the blog layout. I really liked the other one but it was getting old. Now Domo-kun is going to be my blog guardian for awhile.

In order to whore out my posts for more comments, I thought maybe I'd ask a question at the end of each post. Do you think that's a good idea??

It's August!

Hii. I'm blogging again about nothing in particular. Mostly so that I can post these photos that I took quite awhile ago!

They're from my Holga with expired black and white Kodak film. I took most of them at Hoover school when I went there with Claire and Domo-kun, and a couple are from when I went to the riverfront to watercolour paint with Claire Fro. I wasn't sure whether or not to put these up, but I figured I would anyway since I don't think most of you look at my Flickr and I wanted to make a post. It's my first-ever roll of black and white film!

I found an awesome website! This one: http://www.happynews.com/
Hooray!

Tomorrow I'm going to camp in Claire Fro's backyard. I've heard tales of hobo sightings in that area, hmmm. I've also heard that Marinna will be there. That girl is always stirring up trouble. But I'm sure it will be fine as long as Claire doesn't give me anymore Vietnamese "candy"... I don't think the taste will ever leave my mouth.

Soon everyone will be leaving for school and I'll be left behind all alone in Corvallis once again, as my school doesn't start until mid September. I was told I'd get a move-in date soon, so I'm still waiting for that. I am really excited for next year! I hope I can get into my physics class... I'll find out tomorrow. I can sign up at 6am Toronto time, which is 3am here. So I'll be setting my alarm tonight... ohhh the suspense.

My mom heard on NPR or something that they're going to make a movie out of Norwegian Wood, a book by my favorite author, Haruki Murakami. And they're going to be premiering it at the Toronto International Film Festival in the fall! During TIFF last year I was just getting used to the city, so I didn't really pay all that much attention to it and I didn't see any celebrities even though they were apparently swarming all over Toronto. But next year a couple of my friends and I have decided to go star-spotting, which I think will be cool! I hope we see some people.

Edward was telling me about a creepy experience he had at Casa Loma, this old castle place in Toronto. It freaked me out. So, do you believe in ghosts? Tell me!! Baiiii!
